Size 5

I go work out a couple times a week and the kids stay in the gym play area during that time. When I picked up the kids yesterday, I was told they changed Kaisley's diaper. Later when I went to go change her again, she had on a size FIVE diaper! Do you know how big that is on a 4 month old!?!!? :)
I wonder if they thought I was a crazy mama putting size 5's in the bag (that's Brookston's size!) and just didn't see the size 2's for her! Or, if they didn't even notice!!!!
I'll admit, I've gone to put a size 5 on her before, but quickly realized just how darn big they were!
Just made me giggle when I noticed! :)

Geaux Tigers!!!!

We've been wearing a lot of Purple and Gold around this house in the last week or so....
or in Kaisley's case, a little bit of pink too!

LSU is in the College World Series!!
They won game 1 on Monday, lost game 2 on Tuesday, so it all comes down to Wednesday!
GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!!!!
(That's just "Go Tigers" for you non Louisiana folk!) ;)

This week Brookston learned to read/recognize "LSU Tigers"!
He points and says LSU every chance he gets, well, every time he sees it!
Good boy! We sure are raising him right!

Here are a few highlights...lots of LSU included!

Lake Bruin

This weekend the 4 of us went up to Lake Bruin (about 2 1/2 hours away) and had a blast! There were tractors to play on, paddle boats to motor boats to ride around the lake, fish to catch, bubbles to blow, a beautiful black lab that loves to play catch and go swimming, a swing, a nice clean and cool lake to go swimming, a sprinkler to played in, a big boy bed to sleep in, yummy food to eat, and good company to play (Brookston), cuddle (Kaisley) and talk with(mommy and daddy)!

One of our friend's inlaws/parents live up there and well, we went to visit! Thanks Papa and Yaya for a great weekend!

So many highlights from the weekend:

Brookston caught his first fish...HE actually caught it!

However, the excitement of seeing the fish quickly turned into an upset toddler...
he knew the fish was supposed to be in the water!!!
He really really wanted daddy to put it back!
We decided dinner was not the time to tell him that THIS FISH was on our plate!

Vacation Bible School

Last week Brookston attended Vacation Bible School with a friend at his church! It seems like he had a lot of fun...or at least the teachers said he did! It was Monday through Friday from 9am - 12pm. The theme was "flight school", which was so perfect because Brookston LOVES planes!

It was a 2-3 year old class, so I believe he was the youngest..but he did GREAT! He did pout just about every day I left him, but they said he was fine the entire time and did all of the crafts, the music, and so on! Yay!!!

Here are a couple of the pictures they sent home on Friday:

Then on Friday, he came home with a bag of goodies.

Brookston was being super cute and sharing his coloring books with his baby sister...

But a posed pictures of a 3 month old and a 2 year old??? Haha! Yeah right! I thought oh how cute is this...I ended up dressing both kids in orange today and thought it was the perfect time to try siblings pictures....um, no!

In other news...

Brookston is starting to self potty train! For maybe 3-4 weeks now, he'll ask to go sit on the potty at EVERY diaper change. It started with him just sitting on it and 10 seconds later, nothing, but he'd say "all done!" Which was fine...we certainly didn't expect anything at just 2 years old, being that everyone says boys are harder and take longer.

But maybe a week into it, he went a couple times here and there. And now in the last week or so, he goes EVERY time he sits down! He is NOT holding his bladder between potty visits though, which is totally fine, we aren't doing anything at this point, but he's so interested in the potty, you'd think this was perfect timing!

EXCEPT, 4 weeks from today I am traveling alone with both kids. Picture just me with 2 kids on a plane with a newly potty trained toddler...uh....no! It's not gonna happen.

So I hope I'm not missing my window here! We are going to wait until next month!!!

In Kaisley's world....

She's becoming more and more vocal, laughs included. How stinking cute are baby laughs...unfortunately they usually end in the hiccups! Poor thing! I almost feel guilty when I get her all happy and excited...but I can't resist those baby laughs.

Just for a little fun, here is Kaisley (3 1/2 months)

And here was Brookston (4 months)

Shirts were given to us by the hospital...Back to Sleep (SIDS prevention)! :) :)

Oh...and HELLO ROLLS!!!!

If you could only see those thighs too! You'd wanna pinch 'em! :)

Getting This Girl Thing Down

A funny little story...

When I was pregnant with Kaisley and we found out she was a girl, within 24 hours I was off to go shopping for her first girly outfit or dress. Of course, isn't that what pregnant women do?

So, I was in the store, looking around, totally intimidated by the pink, the bows, the ruffles, the lace, the bloomers, the butterflies and ladybugs and I couldn't find anything. Now I laugh, what woman has a hard time finding a dress for a baby girl?!!?! What was wrong with me?
Anyway, I got totally flustered and ran over to the toddler boy department and instead bought something for Brookston!

Well, I must say, with a little coaching from friends and a new appreciation for how fun dresses and bows really are....I think I've done quite well....

Seriously, how stinking cute is she??

Hmm, she almost looks mad...watch, I'll love to dress her up and she'll hate it!

Kaisley after a nice nap in HER crib!
Now that Brookston is in his big boy room, Kaisley has her own room!

Our update after last week:
The floors have been saved, however we still have concrete in our living room.
It may be a while until the flooring is put back down...it's a PAIN!

The sink is fixed...we found a handyman to come to our rescue!

My root canal was a breeze.
However about 36 hours AFTER the root canal I was having a bunch of pain for about 48 hours.
I think I forgot to "take it easy" and I was just treating it like normal, eating and so on.
Or maybe it was the infection...I have no idea.
All I know now is, it's fine, yeah!
