Boating day trip, take 2

Back out again for another day on the boat.  This time was Father's Day.  What a wonderful way to spend the day!  Plus, Nana and Papa were here.  When is the last time I was actually WITH my dad for Father's Day??  So, we celebrated Daddy and Papa with a day out.  Full day this time, since a half day went way too fast last time.

It was a gorgeous day!  And thankfully we got out early because it did get a little crowded on the sandbar.  But the kids absolutely loved it.  The loved the boat, they loved being with Nana and Papa, they loved playing in the water, of course the ice cream boat too!

Rinley took her nap on the boat when we stopped to play at the sandbar.  The kids enjoyed swimming around, playing basketball, jumping in. 

And of course we made our way to a much quieter area to paddle board again!

This beautiful face is what I get to wake up to every morning.  Although some times she's awake first...being so sweet to mommy..."mama, mama, I awake!"

Day trip on a boat

This was such a fun day for us.  We rented a boat and headed out to the water.  We drove out for a while and the kids quickly warmed up to being on the water.  We found a quiet spot to try out the paddle board, and they did great.  Especially B, he was really into it. 

We found a great place to go to next time...there would be a next time!  It's a sandbar where people throw in their anchor and hang out.  People playing music, playing in the water, there are even food boats there to sell lunch (gyros, pizza, hot dogs, burgers) and of course ice cream! 

Today was a half day trip, but we learned that we loved it and will be back for a full day soon!

Pool friends and bunny visits

A day of fun with a friend and the pool...can't get much better!

We bunny sat for almost 3 weeks. The kids had mixed emotions of loving it and being over it. It was a good lesson in pets and a good lesson to realize we don't need one. ;) 

Really though, after that bunny got over the until excitement of 4 kids, and after we could trust it to roam the house freely, since it did great doing so...we had an easy time with the cute little guy! It became a normal part of our morning to dash around excited to see us and sniff the kids hair if they were laying on the floor, or run by their feet all excited.  And in the evening it would often come hop on the couch and sit close to us, or get some exercise darting all over the house like a little kid. It was rather cute!

Kindergarten reading medal and trophy

Such a proud moment that K worked toward all year. She went from not reading at all at the beginning of the year, to reading so many books and taking so many AR (comprehension) tests, that she racked up enough points for a medal AND a trophy! She was sooooo excited! And of course we were too! Way to go girlie!!

And here she is below with her amazing teacher! She has now taught two of our kids how to read!! Amazing!
